About:

Short bio of the lecture: We will discuss several common fracture types that are encountered and discuss treatment options including non-surgical and surgical management. Types of fractures discussed will include challenging digit and metacarpal/metatarsal fractures, growth plate fractures in puppies, articular fractures, and some of the common diaphyseal fractures. Options discussed will also include the most relevant diagnostic images needed, time frames for getting surgery completed (if applicable), and prognoses. The emphasis will be on what the general practitioner can do both to provide the definitive management and/or management while preparing for referral surgery if preferred.
